LOST HITS OF THE EARLY SEVENTIES

The search continues, as we saddle up again, looking for ‘the lost hits’.  I define these ‘lost hits’ as songs that deserved much better than their actual peak below the Billboard top twenty upon their original release.  Some of these songs are so well-known today, it’s hard to imagine them falling so short of the mark. Others are by such one-hit wonders as ‘Teegarden & VanWinkle’ (remember their one big hit?)  You’ll hear such superstars as Elvis and Elton, James Taylor and Van Morrison, Billy Joel and Neil Young – each with wonderful songs that, somehow, failed to ignite upon release. ‘The Lost Hits of the Early Seventies’ makes for a great Sunday afternoon of radio listening.

In the show’s first hour (2-3pm.), it’s a look back at ‘This Week in Zoomer Music‘ – remembering when ‘The King of Rock’n’Roll’ sang to a real live ‘hound dog’ on TV. The hour is always a musical smorgasbord: this Sunday we’ll hear Anne Murray and The Band, Blondie and George Michael, and ‘The Story Behind the Song‘ ‘Save the Last Dance for Me’.  I hope you’ll tune in for ‘Vintage Fvaourites’ Sunday 2:00 to 4:30pm.
