It’s the spookiest season of the year!

We asked our hosts here at Zoomer Radio to share their favourite Halloween songs! What are yours? Let us know on our X (formerly known as Twitter) page!

Also, make sure to tune in to Zoomer Radio for your Halloween party – we’ll take care of the music!

Sam Houston – Thriller

My pick is THRILLER by MJ – love the cameo from Vincent Price at the very end.

Plus… THRILLER was the first time I had seen a music video as a mini movie – and who doesn’t love a good zombie song!?

Jane BrownMonster Mash

Monster Mash by Bobby Pickett was released before I was born, but it was played on the radio all the time when I was kid.

It reminds me of the days when I used to carry my transistor radio with me wherever I went listening to the local radio station.

Happy Hallowe’en!!

Eva DSuperstition

My favorite Halloween song is Stevie Wonder Superstition.  Why you ask?

Well, it has a great beat to it…. it’s award-winning, and most importantly, it teaches us about the downside in believing those silly superstitions… just the same though…I always stay away from black cats!

Liz West – I Want Candy

Put me down for “I Want Candy” by Bow Wow

Why? Well #1, I love candy and that’s the best part of Halloween. Tiny chocolate bars, boxes of Smarties, and I am a huge fan of those chewy candies that come wrapped up in the orange/black/white wrappers and are only sold at Halloween. I don’t even know what they are exactly but I eat an embarrassing amount of them at Halloween.

And #2?  I love candy 🙂

Robbie LaneI Put A Spell On You

I love ‘I Put A Spell On You’ by Jay Hawkins.

It scares me and my cats.

Gene Stevens – Tubular Bells

The scariest movie I’ve ever seen was ‘The Exorcist’. There were ambulances outside The University Theatre on Bloor Street for those who fainted – my knees shook, but I hung on. Almost 50 years later – it’s ‘still the one’.

So my ‘favourite’ (?) Hallowe’en song is ‘Tubular Bells’ – Mike Oldfield’s spooky masterpiece theme from ‘The Exorcist’.

Lily Frost – Wychwood

Here’s a spooky one I wrote from Viridian Torch about the spirits that live in the trees. It’s called Wychwood and features theremin. It was inspired by the phrase “knock on wood.”
