‘FEAR ON FILM’ – HALLOWE’EN EDITION!

My annual ‘Hallowe’en Edition’ of Vintage Favourites will take a definite turn down a dark corridor, with a cold wind blowing torn curtains; the sound of a creaking door – interrupted by a familiar tune – long-buried deep in our subconscious mind, bringing back frightening reminders of chills and shivers in old theatres.  ‘Fear on Film’ features famous themes from such classics as ‘Dracula’, ‘Psycho’, ‘The Exorcist’ and ‘Hallowe’en’ … curated for your entertainment, with fascinating insight and details, sure to bring back some scary moments – and delicious thrills.

I wouldn’t set out on such a scary endeavour without a trusted co-host – and horror film expert – Chris Alexander.  He’s a film director, critic, magazine publisher, and professor – a ‘cinema savant’, he calls himself. One of his recent college courses was ‘Fear on Film’ – so we’re in good hands with Chris.  Tune in – if you dare – for a most unusual edition of ‘Vintage Favourites’ this Sunday.

That’s Chris joining me at the ZoomerPlex

The show starts, as usual, at 2pm. with ‘This Week in Zoomer Music‘ and our usual musical smorgasbord with Lonnie Donegan and Cream, Herman’s Hermits and Shania Twain, Bryan Adams and ‘The Story Behind the Song‘ ‘Monster Mash’.  And that sets us up for our main feature: ‘Fear on Film’ from 3-4pm. Once we’ve been good-and-scared silly, I’ll smooth things out with a nice final half-hour birthday salute to k.d. lang.  That’s all on the next ‘Vintage Favourites’ this Sunday, Oct.30th, 2:00 – 4:30pm.
