THE SOUNDS OF ’73’ – PART THREE
Our three-part celebration of ‘The Sounds of 73‘ concludes with this Sunday’s ‘Part Three’; and we’ve saved the best for last. I’ll reveal 1973’s top charting songs in Pop, Adult Contemporary, and Rhythm & Blues formats, plus the year’s top album, some Grammy and Juno award winners, and the year’s top concerts – the one that earned the most money, and the first one seen by a billion people around the world. I’ll even feature the best topical novelty song of ’73. Every memory – now marking its 50th anniversary.
In the show’s first hour (2-3pm.) – ‘Our Sunday Best – A Century of #1 Hits‘ – I’ll spotlight the top-charting songs this week in 1939, ’49, ’59, ’69, ’79 and 1989; including ‘Riders in the Sky’ and ‘Band on the Run’. Plus – ‘The Story Behind the Song‘ ‘You’re the One That I Want’ – that super-hit from ‘Grease’. That’s all on the next edition of ‘Vintage Favourites’ this Sunday (June 11) from 2:00 to 4:30.
