Toronto Humane Society’s Marlo is your go-to for hugs, late night movies and early morning snuggles. He’s the cuddle companion you’ve been waiting for, the adventure buddy you didn’t know you needed. There’s just one catch. Ready for it? Here it comes: he wants you to scratch his belly. We know it’s a lot to ask. But he won’t budge on this.
This kiss-giving, belly-rub-loving, happy-go-lucky hunk-and-a-half is ready to settle in with a family who likes fun as much as he does. He has so much energy and loves getting outside to run around. When he isn’t outside, he’s inside showing off how high he can jump (it’s real high). He is a smart boy and is very food motivated. That means he learns super fast with whoever’s got a couple treats in their back pocket. He’s a great walker (though sometimes he likes to grab the leash to play!) and is crate trained.
Marlo can be a little shy at first, especially around certain men. But with a little bit of time, some treats and toys, he’ll become your best friend and never leave your side. This boy has a lot of energy. Besides belly rubs, he loves chasing squirrels, birds, leaves, anything that moves basically. He’s an agile, speedy little character who loves showing off to his humans. He will need lots of exercise inside and outside the home!
Marlo’s ideal home is one where he’ll get the space he needs to first adjust to his new surroundings, then to play in them! He would thrive in a home with more active people who enjoy going for long walks and giving belly rubs. Walks are super important to this sweet little guy as that’s how he likes to burn his high energy. He could go home with other pets but will need to meet them in a supervised environment! He likes humans of all ages, but the younger children in the home will need to respect and understand his need for space as he adjusts to his new home.
With a little time and patience, Marlo will thrive with the family and become a loyal companion. For more information on Marlo, visit his Toronto Humane Society profile here https://www.torontohumanesociety.com/adopt-a-pet/dogs/43100942 or contact their adoptions staff at [email protected].
