This year’s Nobel Prize in medicine goes to British researcher John Gurdon and Shinya Yamanaka of Japan.

The Nobel committee says the two have won the award for research that has “revolutionized the understanding of how cells and organisms develop.”

The physics award will be announced Tuesday, followed by chemistry on Wednesday, literature on Thursday and the Nobel Peace Prize on Friday.
