The Ontario Nurses’ Association says it rejects a report calling for the closure of Ontario’s 14 Community Care Access Centres that co-ordinate home care.

Association president Linda Haslam-Stroud says the community care system should be expanded and enhanced.

Haslam-Stroud says the health ministry should conduct a critical review of the size and cost of management staff of the agencies.

She says the government should minimize the costs of administration to ensure that health care dollars flow to where they are most beneficial — to patients.
