Libraries in Singapore say the children’s book “And Tango Makes Three” is inappropriate. And the information minister of the conservative city-state says he supports the decision to destroy all copies of the book.
The book is about two male penguins in New York City’s Central Park Zoo raising a baby chick. It was inspired by a real-life story.
The state-run library system says it will destroy the books, along with copies of two other titles.
Singapore’s Information Minister says they’re doing it because Singapore supports teaching children about what it calls conventional families.
Some online petitions have cropped up urging that the books be spared.
