Andrea Horwath says not so fast.   At an Ontario N-D-P provincial council meeting this weekend in Toronto, there are signs of dissent within the ranks because of the party’s poor showing in the June election.

A petition calling for Horwath to step down is being circulated at the weekend meeting by the N-D-P’s Socialist Caucus.

But Horwath says there will be a full debriefing on the campaign and election results at the weekend council meeting, and members who still have complaints will be able to discuss them at a leadership review in November.

Horwath says New Democrats have healthy debates all the time, and that the party is vigorously democratic.
