Prime Minister Harper will meet with U-2 frontman Bono on Monday.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, the rock superstar wanted the meeting with Mr. Harper to talk about Canada’s foreign aid program that aims at improving child and maternal health.
Bono will also meet with NDP Leader Tom Mulcair as well as Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau.
In the past, Bono met with previous Prime Ministers Jean Chretien and Paul Martin.
Prime Minister Harper once snubbed Bono when he wanted a meeting. Bono said Mr. Harper was “out of sync with the people.” Mr. Harper once said meeting with celebrities wasn’t his “shtick.”
