There isn’t going to be a complete ban of Russian athletes at the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games.
The International Olympic Committee announced Sunday that it will let individual global athletic federations decide which Russian athlertes can compete.
The IOC had been considering a sweeping ban of all Olympic athletes from Russia following reports of state-sponsored doping.
The governing body of track and field sports, the I-A-A-F has already banned Russian competitors at this year’s games.
Individual sports federations have the power to decide which Russian athletes and teams should be allowed to compete.
