One of the performers at Cirque du Soleil’s LUZIA show was taken to hospital after suffering an injury during the afternoon performance Saturday.

It happened in the 4:30 p.m. show’s final acrobatic sequence.

A Cirque de Soleil spokesperson says the performance in the show’s big white tent at Cherry Street and Lakeshore Boulevard was stopped briefly while the show’s emergency intervention team rushed to the aid of the performer.

The spokesperson says the performer – a man in his 20s – was conscious and in a “good and stable state.”
