It appears many Canadians took in the Tragically Hip’s last show in Kingston over the weekend.
More than 4 million an hour watched the band’s final show of their Man Machine Poem tour in Kingston while a total of nearly 12 million Canadians watched on TV, or online, or listened to it on the radio.
The show was aired commercial free Saturday night, pre-empting live Olympic events on the national broadcaster.
Tragically Hip lead singer Gord Downie is suffering from terminal brain cancer and the band has said this summer’s tour will be its last.
