Canada is contributing to the relief effort for Caribbean countries that got hammered by Hurrican Irma.

According to Global Affairs, Canada will contribute 100-thousand dollars to the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency, and 60-thousand dollars to the region’s medical charities.

Canada will also help where needed with UNDAC, the United Nations Disaster Assessment and Coordination team.

In a statement, Canada’s International Development Minister Marie-Claude Bibeau says that Global Affairs “will continue to respond as needed and appropriate,”

Before it hit Florida, Hurricane Irma claimed 23 lives on Caribbean Islands in its path.
