The world’s leading maker of N95 masks is about to begin production in Canada.

Industrial giant 3M is adding mask production to their plant in Brockville in Eastern Ontario. The official announcement will be made Friday by the Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Ontario Premier Doug Ford.

Both levels of government will provide $23 million each to help set up the new production line and the company will invest a similar amount.

In March as COVID-19 cases were spiking across the country, supplies of PPE, especially surgical masks, were in short supply.
