An actress, who played opposite stars like Henry Fonda and Joan Crawford, in various films in the ’40s and ’50s, has died.  As her daughter put it, the original “Martha Stewart” has left us for a new part in a movie with all her heavenly friends.

Among her more prominent roles was playing opposite Humphrey Bogart in the 1950 movie “In a Lonely Place.”

She also played Miss Adelaide in “Guys and Dolls” on Brodway in 1951.

Martha Ruth Stewart was 98.
