HYDRO RATES RISE WITH STAY AT HOME ORDERS

Now that most of the stay at home orders are lifted for the province, get used to paying your regular hydro rate again.

As of midnight Monday, the less expensive, fixed, off-peak, hydro rate of 8.5 cents per kilowatt hour, expired.

A spokesperson for the Ministry of Energy says the emergency measure is not going to be extended.

Customers who are unable to pay their electricity bills because of the pandemic, can apply for the COVID-19 Energy Assistance Program through their local utility.
