If you’ve been having trouble trying to book an appointment for a COVID-19 vaccine, there is now a new way to get a booking.

Mayor John Tory says the City of Toronto is partnering with Vaccine Hunters Canada to publicize available bookings.

“Each day at the end of the day, the city will forward to Vaccine Hunters a list of the available appointments, and so people can go on Vaccine Hunters and see where those appointments are and if they qualify in terms of the different age requirements and different groups that are able to get vaccinated in city run clinics. They’ll know where to go and look through the provincial registration system and otherwise,” Tory explained, calling it just one more way to publicize the appointments that are available and try to make it easier for people to get vaccinated.

Currently, only two clinics – Toronto Congress Centre and Cloverdale Mall – have a few remaining appointments available, but as vaccine availability becomes more plentiful next week, new appointments will be added and available appointments at all nine City clinics will be displayed. There are also appointments available during the week of May 10 at all City-operated clinics.

Importantly, people must book their appointments for City-run clinics through the provincial booking system, which is based on current Phase 2 eligibility criteria – there are no walk-in or standby appointments available at City-run clinics. Current eligibility at City-run clinics is as follows:

• All those who are 60 years of age or older (born in 1961 or earlier)
• Those who are 45 years of age or older (born in 1976 or earlier) and live in one of the 53 hot spot areas of Toronto based on postal code
• Pregnant women
• Teachers who work in hot spot areas
• Teachers who live in hot spot areas
• Childcare workers in licensed childcare settings (effective April 29)

Pregnant women, teachers and childcare workers must call the provincial booking system at 1-833-943-3900 or 1-888-999-6488 to book an appointment. The online booking system can’t be used for these groups at this time.
