Zoomers of a certain age probably read his reviews in magazines like Rolling Stone and Crawdaddy.
Ed Ward, music historian and critic, whose music reviews weren’t always well received, has died.
He called “Sun King,” from the Beatles 1969 Album “Abbey Road,” the album’s biggest bomb and its second side “a disaster.”
Ward was also the author of of two acclaimed books about rock music.
His death was confirmed by his sister. She did not release a cause although he was known to suffer from diabetes and in 2012 had a pulmonary embolism.
Ed Ward was 72.
