Zoomer music legend Joan Baez has been listening to her older records and says she hears perfection in an “unsurpassable” voice.
The now 80-year old calls her voice, which once spanned three octaves, “the Gift,” not something she created.
Baez is one of five performers being recognized with Kennedy Center Honours this year. Also on the list, 95-year old Dick Van Dyke, Choreographer Debby Allen, Garth Brooks and Japanese American violinist Midori.
The 43rd Kennedy Centre Honours will be taped next week, to air June 6th.
