Ontario’s health minister hinted Monday that outdoor recreational amenities might reopen before the stay-at-home order is set to expire June 2nd. Christine Elliott says the decision will be up to Ontario’s top doctor.

While Dr. David Williams says he’s getting “more optimistic” no decision’s been made yet.

“We’re looking seriously at those at this time and we hope to have some news and updates in the near future,” said Dr. Williams.

Minister Elliott’s comments come in the wake of a new report from The Hospital for Sick Children that calls on the Ford government to immediately prioritize outdoors activities for children and youth for their health and well being.

Doug Ford indicated on the weekend that summer camps would be permitted to open this year though he did not offer any details.
