ELECTRONIC MUSIC PIONEER DIES AT 82

He was both a composer and an advocate who devoted himself to what one music critic called the “marriage between humans and their computers.”

 

Joel Chadabe, who considered himself an explorer of electronic music’s frontier, has died.

He was the founder and president of EMF…or Electronic Music Foundation which promoted both the creative and cultural side of electronic music…

Without Chadabe, the world might never have enjoyed the Moog synthesizer.  He’d commissioned Bob Moog to build him one and went on to compose electronic music prolifically.

Joel Chadabe was 82.
