In the later years of his life, singer and leader of the “Rat Pack,” Frank Sinatra would often reminisce about his loves, his losses and the friends he missed most.  One of those was his close friend Marilyn Monroe.

Sinatra’s confidant and former manager Tony Oppedisano has written a memoir called “Sinatra and Me: In The Wee Small Hours.”  In it, he writes Sinatra didn’t believe Monroe’s death in 1962 was the result of an accidental overdose.  He says Sinatra believed she was murdered and never got over it.

According to the book Sinatra and Monroe were never lovers, but she did confide in him her most intimate secrets including her affairs with U.S. President John Kennedy and his brother Robert.

Within days of Monroe’s death, rumours began to circulate that she’d been killed to silence her and Sinatra believed that Robert Kennedy and Mob boss Sam Giancana were involved.
