Last night in Kingston, Ontario city council debated and passed a motion to move the controversial statue of Canada’s first prime minister from a downtown park to a cemetery.
The statue is to be relocated to the Kingston cemetery where Sir John A. Macdonald is buried
Sir John A has long been revered as a father of confederation. However, his legacy has been tarnished by his work to create the residential school system that removed indigenous children from their families.
