Go ahead and book those haircut, mani-pedi appointments.
The Ford government has officially announced that Ontario will move into Stage 2 the day before Canada Day not the day after.
Capacity limits on essential retail will rise from 25% to 50%, while non-essential retail goes from 15% to 25%.
Masks are to be worn at all times during personal care service appointments.
Indoor, masked social gatherings of up to 5 are allowed.
Up to 25 can attended outdoor functions while as many as 6 can dine together on a patio.
Waterloo Region will not move into Stage 2 with the rest of the province because of a surge of cases driven by the Delta variant.
That Region’s medical officer says this will give residents more time to get vaccinated, which could see the area join the second phase of reopening in mid-July.
