Medical authorities are studying the case of a man in Bristol, England who has finally recovered from 290-days of being positive with a COVID type virus.
72-year old Dave Smith spent the last 10 months with an active coronavirus infection and was hospitalized seven times after testing positive 43 times.
Scientists at the University of Bristol are studying Dave’s case to try and understand how COVID acts and mutates within the body.
Smith’s immune system was vulnerable to the virus after a leukemia diagnosis and chemotherapy treatment. He was eventually treated with a new mixture of anti-viral drugs provided by the US company Regeneron on compassionate grounds.
He’s tested negative for the SARS-CoV-2 virus ever since.
