The Ford PCs at Queen’s Park are extending a $3-an-hour pandemic wage increase for personal support workers through October 31st.
This announcement falls short of a promise by Premier Doug Ford last month, who said he would make make the wage increase permanent, but did not give further details or say for how long.
The Tories say some 158,000 workers are eligible for the ongoing temporary wage boost at a cost of $169-million.
The pay bump was first put in place last October and had since been extended until today.

Nursing home residents were also the first in the province to receive COVID vaccinations toward the end of last year.
