Living, working or shopping in Mississauga, you will be required to wear a mask inside public spaces until at least the end of March.
Mississauga City Councillors have voted in favour of extending the city’s mandatory mask bylaw, which was set to expire September 30th.
Toronto Mayor John Tory was asked Friday morning about extending the mask mandate in this city.
He said this will be decided at the next city council meeting October 1st.
“The winter months are more dangerous for COVID and for the Delta variant simply because people are indoors and you don’t have the fresh air to keep things moving along to the same extent, so we will consider what to do about that as we do before every city council meeting,” Mayor Tory told CP24.
The decision to extend the mask mandate in Mississauga came a few weeks after Peel’s Medical Officer of Health Dr. Lawrence Loh asked the mayors of Mississauga, Brampton and Caledon to extend their mask bylaws to help reduce the impact of the fourth wave of COVID-19.
