There is word from Buckingham Palace on Wednesday that Queen Elizabeth II has reluctantly accepted medical advice to rest for a few days.

There were no specifics given on the decision, other than to say the 95 year old monarch is “in good spirits and is disappointed that she will no longer be able to visit Northern Ireland, where she had been due to undertake a series of engagements today and tomorrow.”

The palace adds that the Queen “sends her warmest good wishes to the people of Northern Ireland, and looks forward to visiting in the future.”

Earlier in October, the Queen was pictured using a rare walking stick in London’s Westminster Abbey, as she attended a service to mark the centenary of UK armed forces charity the Poppy Legion.

A royal source told CNN that the monarch used the stick for her “comfort.”
