The investigation continues into tragic events on the set of an Alec Baldwin movie near Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Confirmed by the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s office, a prop firearm discharged by the veteran actor, who is starring in and producing the Western, killed his director of photography and injured the director.

A Baldwin spokesperson said there was an accident on the set involving the misfire of a prop gun with blanks.

Prop guns usually fire blanks, producing a flash and a bang but not a hard projectile.

A sheriff’s spokesperson says detectives are probing how and what type of projectile was discharged.
