After approving the use of Moderna’s COVID-19 booster shot for Canadians 18 and older, the drug company has asked Health Canada to approve its vaccine for children six-to-11-years of age.
It’s the second pediatric vaccine awaiting approval in this country.
The health agency’s still looking at Pfizer’s application for children as young as 5 and says approval could come in ”one to two weeks.”
Pfizer’s vaccine, which would be one-third the size of the dose given to adults and children 12 and under, is now called Comirnaty while Moderna’s product goes under the name Spikevax.
