The Trudeau government’s plans for the new session of Parliament were laid out in the speech from the throne, read by Governor General Mary Simon; the first Indigenous person appointed to the post.
The speech promises the Trudeau Liberals will work with provinces and territories on health-care issues either highlighted or worsened by COVID.
But Conservative Leader Erin O’Toole says the speech contains no concrete actions.
NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh says it shows the Liberals have ”run out of ideas and run out of steam,” adding the Liberals should not take his party’s support for granted.
Meanwhile, the Bloc leader says there are a lot of buzzwords in the speech, and little else.
As a result, Yves-Francois Blanchet says he has no reason to vote in favour of it, but no reason to vote against it.
