The world’s number one tennis player was back on court practicing in Melbourne early Tuesday morning, after Novak Djokovic won a court battle to stay in Australia to contest the Australian Open after his exemption from strict COVID-19 vaccination rules was questioned.

Djokovic tweeted along with the above photo, “I’m pleased and grateful that the Judge overturned my visa cancellation. Despite all that has happened, I want to stay and try to compete @AustralianOpen. I remain focused on that. I flew here to play at one of the most important events we have in front of the amazing fans.”

But the drama might not be finished for the unvaccinated tennis star.

Djokovic’s visa was restored by an Australian Court Monday and he’s been released from a four day quarantine detention at a local hotel.

Djokovic’s lawyers argued successfully that since he received a positive COVID-19 test in December, he was eligible for an exemption to Australia’s vaccination rules.

Australia’s Immigration minister may still revoke the visa. A government lawyer has told the judge that the immigration minister might use his personal power to cancel the visa again.
