The person behind the infamous late December charter flight to Mexico, apologizes for the behaviour of Canadian passengers captured on videos, but also plans to sue at least Sunwing for refusing to fly them back to Montreal.
James William Awad says Sunwing, Air Canada and Air Transat should be ”ashamed” for refusing to bring them home, adding Sunwing ”abandoned” the group of influencers and reality show stars after videos surfaced showing passengers ignoring public health measures, dancing in the aisle, vaping and passing around a bottle of alcohol.
Awad claims the party lasted just a few minutes, and that had it gone on too long, the pilot would have decided to land the plane.
As far as he knows, none of the passengers has been charged or fined as yet, though he admits that could change.
The departments of Transport, Public Safety and Health are all investigating the incident.
