Another milestone has been reached in Toronto’s roll out of the 3rd shot COVID-19 booster vaccines.
A release from Team Toronto this morning says more than 1.3 million third doses have been administered to eligible residents.
The release goes on to say, more than 6.4 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered to date, and Team Toronto continues to offer many opportunities for residents to receive a first, second or third dose.
More information on the hundreds of vaccination options is available on the City’s COVID-19: How to Get Vaccinated webpage: www.toronto.ca/home/covid-19/covid-19-vaccines/covid-19-how-to-get-vaccinated/.
A reminder that this weekend, residents of Scarborough are invited to attend Scarborough Health Network’s Family Rollcall Vax Weekend, happening January 29 and 30 at three locations across Scarborough from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Clinics are open to all eligible individuals regardless of postal code and walk-ins are welcome. The booster campaign continues as Ontario Chief Medical Officer Dr. Kieran Moore tells his fellow Ontarians, we have to learn to live with COVID-19.
Dr. Peter Juni, scientific director of Ontario’s COVID-19 Science Advisory Table agrees and is feeling positive.
“I’m actually relatively optimistic right now that we can move into spring and then enjoy the good weather and be outdoors and that this will help together with the immunity we experience because of the Omicron wave and the successful roll out of the third doses and first and second doses in kids,” Dr. Juni explained.
Dr. Juni admits the perfect curve ball would be another variant that is even more transmissible than Omicron or evades the vaccine even more.
