The mayor of Sarnia calls ongoing protests at Canada-U.S. border crossings, “economic terrorism.”
And Mike Bradley says these demonstrations are not about freedom.
“It’s actually denying other people the right to employment, including ironically, the very group they claim to represent, truckers,” Mayor Bradley explained to CP24, “90 percent of truckers are vaccinated. Most of them that I know want to continue to work and supply Canada with goods.”
Mayor Bradley says Sarnia’s Blue Water Bridge is definitely feeling the effects of the protest forced closure of the Ambassador Bridge in Windsor.
“There’s no question, we’re the only alternative and the fact is that with just-in-time delivery and the valuable nature of these goods, whether perishables or auto supplies, you have to keep them moving,” Bradley continued, “So the other day there were four or four and a half hour backups at the Blue Water Bridge. I expect today (Thursday) is going to be much worse.”
Bradley says that’s why they’re asking the provincial and federal governments to provide some leadership and set a game plan to end the various anti-mandate protests.
He says Canada cannot afford these demonstrations because the Blue Water Bridge and the Ambassador Bridge are essential to trade and jobs in Canada.
Mayor Mike Bradley will have more to say as a guest on Zoomer Radio’s Fight Back with Libby Znaimer after Thursday’s noon news.
