As the protest in downtown Ottawa approaches a third full week, police began handing out warnings of the possible consequences of staying in or coming to the capital.
”You must leave the area now. Anyone blocking streets, or assisting others in the blocking of streets, are committing a criminal offence and you may be arrested,” the notice reads.
It’s also been posted on line, partly because they wanted to warn those who might be considering coming to the capital to protest the new Emergencies Act.
Meanwhile, the Children’s Aid Society is telling parents at the protest to make arrangements for their care should they be unable to provide it after potential police action.
Some of the new emergency powers prohibit people from bringing children to unlawful assemblies.
A just has also extended the injunction against horn honking another 60-days.
