An adviser to Ukraine’s president reports that a little progress had been made on safe corridors for civilians fleeing the conflict.
Mykhailo Podolyay will only say after a third round of negotiations with the Russians that ”there were some small positive shifts regarding logistics of humanitarian corridors.”
Russian negotiators say they did not have any positive developments to report and warn not to expect the next round to result in agreement.
According to Vladimir Medinsky the talks are ”not easy. It is too early to talk about something positive.
Hopefully next time we can take a bigger step forward.”
Foreign ministers for the two countries are scheduled to meet Thursday in Turkey.
