SMITHSONIAN CELEBRATES WOMEN

As part of Women’s History Month, The Smithsonian is honouring more than 100 women who are changing the future.

Each statue has a QR code that allows visitors to learn more about the figure depicted.

The museum has unveiled a new historic exhibit called If Then She Can  featuring 120 life size 3-D statues of women who have excelled in the fields of science, technology, engineering and math or STEM.

The Washington D.C exhibit will be on display until the end of March.

The museum calls it the largest collection of women statues ever assembled.

Among the women trailblazers, a college student who made over 82,000 thousand pieces of PPE for healthcare workers during the pandemic by using a 3D printer.

Tuesday, March 8th,  marks International Women’s Day.
