Canadian classic rock guitarist and songwriter Jerry Doucette has died of cancer in a hospice in British Columbia.

Doucette was born in Montreal, grew up in Hamilton, learned to play guitar at age six and later settled in B.C.’s lower mainland.

He is survived by his wife Maggie of 43 years, five children and 10 grandchildren.
