A new study on shut-eye is giving insight into how many hours of sleep are really necessary.
Researchers from Britain and China examined data from a 500,000 adults aged 38 to 73, who are considered middle-aged.
They found the sweet spot was seven hours of sleep a night.
Those who got seven hours had better cognitive function than those who got more or less.
They were also in better overall health and were less likely to experience anxiety or depression.
