There were at least 7 missile strikes on the Black Sea port of Odesa on Monday night.

A statement from the Ukrainian military says one person was killed and five injured when Russian missiles hit a shopping centre and a warehouse.

There has also been the discovery of the bodies of 44 civilians in the rubble of an apartment building in northeastern Ukraine that was destroyed back in March.

Lithuania’s foreign minister meantime, says removing Russia’s leader Vladimir Putin from power is the only way to protect the West and its allies from future threats from Moscow.

Gabrielus Landsbergis says there must be questions inside the Kremlin about Putin’s decision to invade Ukraine in February.

“The west, we do not need explaining why Putin started the war. We know our answers. But who is he convincing then? And I would say that it’s his inner bigger and smaller circles. Probably these are the people who most likely are starting to question the motives or the successes or the losses that they are facing in Ukraine and whether it was all worth it,” Landsbergis explained.

Landsbergis is urging an even tougher stance than the U.S. and many NATO allies have been willing to pursue since Putin’s war began.
