If you’re looking for something a little extra when renting a home with Airbnb, the company is adding new categories like “chef’s kitchens” and “historical homes.”
In one of the biggest change to the company’s site in a decade, Airbnb is also promising new protections for renters when listings fall short of advertised promises. The changes are being rolled out this week, in time for what the company predicts will be a strong summer season for rentals.
The new features include the ability to more easily divide trips between two homes when options for longer stays are limited.
Airbnb recently reported business was booming again after being devastated by the pandemic. In its most recent earnings report, Airbnb posted quarterly revenue of US$1.5 billion, up 70% from the same period last year.
