The fall out continues over the verbal harassment of NDP leader Jagmeet Singh during a campaign event in Peterborough Wednesday.

Singh said he’s used to dealing with aggressive behaviour in public, but admitted yesterday’s verbal attack ranks among the worst experiences. But he appeared calm and unfazed during the up-close-and-personal verbal attacks.

He says politicians stoking division must take responsibility for growing hostility.

Some politicians of all stripes have condemned the incident including Conservative leadership candidate Scott Aitchison.

In a statement  following the incident, Singh said he knew the attack is not representative of the people of Peterborough.

A report by the Canadian Security Intelligence Service found that political figures in Canada are facing threats of violence and online abuse with increasing regularity.
