An Ontario-based Punjabi rapper, with strong ties to B.C.’s Sikh community, has been shot and killed in India.

Sidu Moose Walah grew up in India.

He had several international hits after moving to Brampton in 2016. He had 8-million followers on Instagram.  His music videos racked up millions of views on YouTube.

He recently ran for and lost a seat in the Punjab legislature.

Punjabi police have linked the attack to gang rivalry and say a gang member from Canada has allegedly claimed responsibility.
