Canadian musician Jacob Hoggard will remain on bail ahead of his sentencing Friday for sex assault causing bodily harm after a Toronto jury convicted him of raping an Ottawa woman in 2016.
Superior Court Justice Gillian Roberts ordered new bail conditions, including that he remain at his Vancouver home or another pre-approved address and not leave between 10 pm and 6 am, except in the case of emergencies or approved commitments.
A conviction for sex assault carries a maximum sentence of 14-years; there’s no minimum unless a firearm is involved or the complainant is younger than 16.
The jury found Hoggard not guilty of sexually assaulting and groping a 16-year-old girl.
He now faces a new charge of sexual assault causing bodily harm related to an alleged incident involving a third complainant in 2016.
Hoggard’s to appear in court for that August 4.
