Zoomers of a certain vintage will certainly remember “The Beachombers.”

One of the stars of the show, Pat John, who played Jesse Jim, opposite Bruno Gerussi’s Nick, has died at the age of 69.

John was one of the first Indigenous actors to play a contemporary character on Canadian T-V. The show ran for 18 years, was a national hit and developed a strong international audience over its run.

John suffered health problems in recent years and died on Wednesday.
