An unsanctioned Hells Angels biker procession could cause traffic problems here in Toronto Thursday.

Toronto Police expect upwards of 1000 bikers and other motorcycle enthusiasts to drive through various streets including the DVP in memory of a member who died recently.

Superintendant Scott Baptist with Traffic Services reassured motorists that officers are “on it”.

“We’re going to do everything we can to ensure there’s a robust traffic plan to make sure that traffic moves about the city and that this procession has the most minimal impact on the people of Toronto as possible,” Baptist explained to reporters on Wednesday.

It is expected that the bikers will travel south on the Don Valley Parkway then onto Lakeshore East to Carlaw from 11am to noon.

Motorists should expect traffic disruptions later in the day between 5pm and 6pm when the bikers head out along the northbound DVP for a weekend event in Whitby.
