Ontario’s premier has put his Etobicoke home back on the market for nearly $400,000 less than its initial listing price.

Doug Ford and his wife Karla initially listed the home for just under $3.2-million on July 15th.

But in a tactic that has become increasingly common in a real estate market experiencing price declines, the house was relisted this week at $2,800,888.

Real estate platform Strata issued a report this month which said terminated listings in the GTA were up by 643 percent since the start of the year, with RBC warning of an “historic” housing correction which could see average house prices in Ontario drop by 14 percent from February peak.

The two-storey property has six bedrooms, four bathrooms and nearly 4500 square feet of living space, according to the listing.

Premier Ford has previously said he plans to move to his late mother’s house, which is located near the home he is selling.
