Foodies rejoice ! Toronto’s annual summer food event is back where you can travel the world with Summerlicious.
Summerlicious started almost twenty years ago, when the SARS pandemic hit the restaurant industry hard. Since then, along with Winterlicious, participating restaurants have served almost 8 million meals generating $353 million dollars for the industry.
“We are a multicultural city and that also means we’ve embraced all different cultures that live here, and the cuisine makes it exciting,” says Renée Suen, blogTO’s food specialist. She says this city’s vibrant food scene is no secret.
“Whether it’s because of the publications and food writers writing about it or it’s because of people who have travelled here and in their own way spread the word, or even through social media.”
In fact, Toronto has been added to Michelin’s roster of reviewed markets. Until August 28th, over 200 restaurants from all corners of the GTA will serve up delicious meals. Lunch menus are priced anywhere from $20 to $55 and dinners range from $25 to $75
Reservations are strongly encouraged.
“And you don’t have to do the dishes, that’s the best part,” joked Suen.
If you like to post pics of your meals, check out blogTO’s photo contest.
“The top three highest ranking photos will win prizes we we’ve got everything from third place $75 dollar gift certificate all the way to first place a $200 gift certificate from one of the over 200 Summerlicous restaurants.”
To participate, just tag your photos on Instagram with #blogTOlicious.
Toronto’s Mayor is encouraging everyone to dine local.“Summerlicious is a great opportunity to get out and experience why Toronto is a culinary hub. With more than 200 incredible participating restaurants across the City and diverse cuisine options to choose from, there’s something for everyone,” said John Tory.
